Pre Match Leicester v Southampton

We've got another long run of games soon so it's essential we utilise our entire squad well. I'd rest Tielemans and Chilwell. From Jan 11th to Feb 1st we have 6 matches.

This will be difficult with their good way record as well as possible revenge.

One thing's for sure, we need 4 or 5 new signings to help deal with the load of games we could potentially have next season if we are in Europe and competitive in the cups

Jamie Vardy turns 33 tomorrow. Southampton beware, he likes to celebrate in style. A hat trick tomorrow would take him to 100 Premier League goals. He couldn't could he?

I studied him for a moment on Wednesday and, for the first time, accepted that his future is finite. He's not going to be our focal point for that much longer. Maybe 18 months?

I hope he kicks on again now and secures top scorer this season.

He's currently at the same number of goals as Salah was at this stage last season on his way to becoming PL top scorer in a season.

I think Vardy has at least 18 months in him; I also think he's got enough in him to potentially change his game when his pace does drop off, to start to find different ways to play, coming deep, etc.

There's a good article in The Athletic about him today and how he seems to be getting younger.

It would be amazing if Vardy could get over 30 goals this season, beat Salah's record, and/or catch Ian Wright on 113 goals (who is the next on the top PL goalscorers list ahead of Vardy).

I agree he wasn't at his sharpest the other night, but think that he genuinely had picked up a knock that had been keeping him out - or just a new baby is keeping him awake!

He still had 2 or 3 one on ones and an assist. Even 'quiet' he was far and away the most threatening player on the pitch.
I'm umm'ing and ah'ing about choudhury and iheanacho for Saturday. I think they should both start, but I'd prefer us to play the diamond than 3 at back if that's the case...

Important game this one, more so than most IMO.

I think our home form has been off for quite a while now, probably more of a reflection of how other teams are setting up when they come to the KP.

The last time we have a convincing performance at home was probably the Arsenal game at the start of November.

I am not sure what we need to change but something does to get us back to our confident best.

We definitely need more intensity and movement.

I imagine this has the potential to be horrifically flat inside the ground (more than usual) so the team really need show some desire.

Agree - most of the team have been far too pedestrian of late - strolling around, foot on the ball, sideways-backwards passing, dicking around trying to play out from the back, especially in the first half. Controlled intricate passing has its place, okay, but so does the quick breakout, or quick cross into the box, - and of course the long ball+Vardy run - mix it up a bit.

A lot of talk about this one being potentially difficult, etc.

I know we all like to be a little cautious, but come on. We beat them 9-0 earlier in the season!

Yes they've got better since, yes they'll be out to try and prove something, but come on. We should be beating these at home, and shouldn't even need to be at our best to do so.

I want to see an improvement over the recent performances too but a lot of that has come with rotation over Christmas and some fatigue creeping in. I think we need a couple of extra bodies this month who are better than what we've got, or at least better than the current backups.

But we have enough to win this and any less would be a bad result.

I'm going 4-1 to us. Vardy with 2, Barnes and Perez one a piece.

I’m pretty sure we will set up like this;

Schmeichel
Chilwell
Evans
Soyuncu
Ricardo
Choudhury
Barnes
Maddison
Tielemans
Perez
Vardy

It wouldn’t be my first choice but not far off and there should be plenty enough there to beat this shower of absolute shit.

He hasn’t posted his prediction yet but I agree with @Micky.
