0.8 xG against Middlesbrough. 0.65 against Leeds.

We've not created enough clear chances even in the games we've won.
There are so, so many problems with xG as a statistic to measure any ****ing thing of any meaning or consequence whatsover. Watching the games is probably a better way of observing what goes on. The truth is, we created plenty of chances to win the game against Middlesbrough (or at least score) and against Leeds we hit the bar, their keeper made a world class save and we had two other glorious chances to score.

The system isn't preventing our strikers from scoring goals, our strikers are preventing the system from being effective because they are either completely incompetent or are having to drop too deep because players like Casadei are ineffective.

You don't like any statistic that challenges your version of the truth.

I wouldn't mind but your eyes are fecking hopeless too so you'd have thought that some stats would help.

We created nowhere near enough against Middlesbro or Leeds. That's why we failed to score in both games. Missing chances is normal and both Middlesbro and Leeds missed at least as many as we did. I think we're flat track bullies this season and can open up piss poor defences. However, when we come up against any manager with a brain and a plan to counteract us, we struggle.

It's okay, that kind of makes sense in the circumstances and I'd hope and expect that EM is working on it. But pretending that everything in the garden is rosy and any shortcoming is down to Iheanacho is potty.

I'm not pretending everything is rosy. I'm not saying every shortcoming is down to Iheanacho. These are the things you have made up.

Missing chances is perfectly normal. Missing the types of chances we did against both Leeds and Middlesbrough should not be normal. Our strikers this year, stink.

There are plenty of worthwhile statistics. Many of them challenge my views but have merit. These, I don't have a problem with. xG is so flawed in so many ways that it doesn't fall into this category; if you wish to use it to prove any kind of point then fill your boots but it simply isn't able to do what you want it to.

As an antithesis to your accusation, just because you fail to see things, doesn't mean they aren't happening. Perhaps if you spent less time trying and failing to analyse every player's psychology and every technical decision made by the manager to show that you know better, and instead sat and enjoyed a game then you'd be better served.

Is this the team that beat Watford 4-1 under Martin Allen? If so, I was at that game.

Yeah, prove it. You can’t. Stop saying it happened because it didn’t.

Can’t believe we’re having to have this conversation again after all these years.
