I find it bizarre how anyone can prefer Ward to Iversen. Ruud doesn’t get a choice in the matter if Iversen isn’t in the squad, but all of Cooper, Enzo and Brendan (for the most part) preferred him.

Maybe it’s just me

All four keepers are in the squad.

I think Cooper went with Ward as sub keeper due to their Welsh background. He probably knew him best.

Iversen is far better than Ward. Iversen is also probably ahead of Stolarcyk for me in terms of goalkeeping. EM went for Stolarcyk because he was better with his feet.

Stolarcyk may have plenty of potential but I'd be concerned about throwing him straight in on Sunday with him having had very little football over the last few months.

I thought Iversen was pretty good in those Dean Smith games at the end of of the 2022/23 season. I expected him to make a natural transition into our first-choice keeper.

You'd think at his age he'd want to leave the club for some first team football.

He's been desperate to leave for years.

Despite multiple offers, for whatever reason, Rudkin has kept him here.

He's quoted last season, at the end of his Stoke loan, as saying that he expected to leave over the summer. I don't imagine we're paying him much compared to Mads or Ward, but there's no sense in keeping him - he's now old enough that he can't be sold as a 'prospect'

If Ward plays, our best defensive tactic is to chop Wolves players down every time they get into the box, since Ward's best goalkeeping trait is he's a fantastic penalty stopper.
