My guess is that Brighton have said they want him back, and that's why he's not playing. The only other possible reason is that he's not match fit. But if he can't even play half a match he shouldn't be on the bench.

The thing this exposes to me is that Ruud simply hasn’t done his homework at all on this squad. The various decisions he has made shows a lack of understanding of the squad, the fans and the club.

We've signed him on loan for the season. If there is a recall clause, that's in January.

Why would we sacrifice our own position, for a player we have a contract and have paid for, because his parent club wants him back in a few weeks?

Unless we're eyeing up another Brighton player (Ferguson?) it would make no sense.
