I’m betting on both Justin and Vardy being in the starting line up

Vestergaard, Ricardo, Doyle, Winks, KDH and Mavididi are nailed on starters - not even worth an argument

Other two places up for grabs, but I think he’ll stick with Albrighton and Ndidi

Why would we play Castagne when he has stated he wants out, he will have already checked out just like Tielemans did.

The only possible outcome is that actually Vesty is shit hot and Brendan just ruined him.

If only we had some other examples?
I wouldn’t say shit hot but let’s not forget he was a regular starter for Denmark. He was exposed, made to look shit in Brendan’s system. Then likely had a sulk.

I’m not saying he is a quality player, and am surprised at his inclusion, but he has vast experience and can probably do a job at this level.

Predicted line-up in LM
Hermansen; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Doyle; Winks, Praet, Dewsbury-Hall; Castagne, Vardy, Mavididi.

In 11 hours we'll be 1 nil up - yippee

I fully expect to win this game. But if we don’t, I won’t be calling for the managers head or saying that his philosophy is ridiculous. I’ll stay patient and hope for a win in our next game.

Although I think the LM has no more actual insight into the club than those who get theirs from the word on the street, if it is that starting 11 it’s more than capable of getting a win.

I'd go for this

Mads
Ricardo, Faes, Doyle, Justin
Praet, Winks, KDH, Mavididi
Nacho
Vardy

I know it's not how we've set up in pre-season, but Maresca's early interviews all suggested he'd work on employing his system with these players but it would take time and we might not be able to play that way straight away - so I wouldn't be surprised if the setup we start with today differs from what he's used in the small number of friendlies we've had.

Ohhhhhh what a beautiful mooooorrrrrrning.

Annoying that we've had to wait until today, instead of getting started yesterday, but I'm looking forward to it. By early afternoon we'll be able to have a good old moan about something real, rather than what might happen. Bring it on. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo:icon lol:

I'm looking forward to it all starting too. Probably more so after seeing some of the other shit yesterday.

Mate, why on earth would he go through the whole preseason not doing anything remotely like that, and then suddenly change it on match day

Yep

Watched some of that complete horseshit yesterday and can’t wait to get this going on.

Exciting times ahead

Martin O'Neill did.
