3pm Saturday.

The real test begins for Smith - but it already feels like it's must win.

Team picks itself more or less IMO.

Iversen
Castagne, Soyuncu, Souttar, Faes, Kristiansen
Praet, Mendy, Tielemans
Maddison
Nacho

Only question IMO is if you start Praet or an extra striker. Or if Barnes is fit, then I'd definitely play him instead.

We should beat these. They are safe and bang average.

If from comments on here Tielemans was crap, why is he being included in teams for next week.
Personally he was not playing well before his injury and as he has already left, he won't give his best.

Probably because we decided to ship out two wingers, meaning when we have an injury (Barnes) and a complete loss of form (Tete), we have to change shape.

That shape involves a lot of central midfielders. And Ndidi and KDH are so utterly garbage right now, that I’m just hoping Tielemans will discover some form after his first game back.

Vardy starting anymore is just wibble really and blue mongieness of the highest order - his legs have gone now and he simply cannot play the same style of game for even 60 mins, let alone 90, that made him a success.

Thats doesn't mean he cannot play a big part in our final 7 games, but if he is to make an impact, he would be better utilised coming on for the last 15-20 mins and just going mental for that time.

He just cannot play that high intensity press on his own any more and it is almost getting embarrassing to watch him try as it is so easy for defenders now.

His only goal this season was when he came on as a sub.

Don’t see why they would change the formation from yesterday, unless Barnes is 100% fit, as it worked well

Which almost certainly means one up front, and that simply cannot be Vardy.

The only problem is we didn’t look dangerous, in fact we looked about as dangerous as a wooden spoon.

Start with two up top, Vardy and Nacho then sub at 45-60 if required (Vardy almost definitely).

We scored one and missed two golden opportunities - Maddison’s was a nailed on goal, but he fluffed it completely

Anyone (including a limbless and headless midget) could have scored our goal yesterday.

Man City went into a coma after about 30 minutes, I don’t expect the same gratitude in our next game.

In the absence of Barnes Vardy can play as part of a two but favour the left side with Nacho playing more central. It worked gangbusters in the past.

They're the key words. What used to work will never work again.

Vardy has lost his mobility with chronic hip and groin issues that will never heal. It not only prevents him from properly sprinting but also he's obviously playing within himself because he knows he cannot put any stress on his body any more.

You cannot make his body do what it used to be able to. It happens to every single player and he's gone on for longer than most.

The only reason remaining to have him in the squad is for reputational value late on coming off the bench. He may still cause some defenders concern because they will be thinking about the Vardy in the past.

In the past, Brendan Rodgers was a good manager at Leicester City.

But time passes and things change.

Get ya money on us for the title next year!....
