Throwing this away

lost by 4 runs, very poor finish from us.

As far as I'm concerned winning the T20 was a very welcome relief in an otherwise appalling season so I can't get too upset about the disappointment of under-performance in India - e.g. misreading of pitch and therefore poor selection/ tactics etc in the opening game e.g. Hoggard couldn't get into the Yorks T20 side three years ago when bowling in favourable English conditions - so why would he be right to play in Indian conditions (in the first game over Naik) three years later on a slow low pitch and given his slowness in the field and limited batting ability?. Also very problematic for English sides cos of lack of time for preparation etc - tho' this didn't seem to impact on an under-strength Somerset.

I would also think that the atmosphere for Leics would have been difficult with a number of key players on the way out of the club.

It's a big ask for the powers that be to Grace Road to assemble a squad for next season to match even the 'strength' of this season.
