LEICESTER City boss Craig Levein wants to make Coventry's goal-scoring attacker Gary McSheffrey his first signing for next season. McSheffrey is poised to quit the Sky Blues despite playing a big part in their winning effort to avoid relegation. He will have a choice of clubs at the end of the season but Leicester are confident they can pull off the deal ahead of their rivals.

Coventry City forward Gary McSheffrey is a surprise target for Craig Levein according to reports this morning



The 22-year-old established himself as a first-team regular in the current campaign after looking likely to leave Highfield Road last season after a loan spell with Luton Town.

The Coventry-born striker, scorer of 15 goals this season is out of contract in the summer and will be offered a new Sky Blues deal but today's Mirror claims that Leicester are also keen and that Levein is confident of pulling off a deal.
