heath to go the other way?

So Levein takes it up the Gary, Heath also goes the other way, and Hughes wants to 'go out with a bang'!

Dark days indeed! :o

we can give him service.

What?. The same sort of qualty service that we have been supplying David Connelly with all season long!!!

What are you on about our midfield is strong attack wise but weak defensively-we don't have a ball winner in the middle of the park

'our midfield is the strongest in the league' 'Gareth Williams is the best player in the division' etc etc

Did anyone see Wigans midfield? did anyone see Kavanagh? Our midfield for the most part this season has been very weak. For the first 15-20 games this season Connolly was only scoring opportunities he created himself, why? because the midfield wasn't creating anything at all. This improved with the addition of Hughes and the signs are the midfield is improving, lets hope it continues.

hear hear

How many times this season has a midfield maestro played a piercing ball along the ground, splitting the defense in 2, allowing Connelly a clear goal scoring opportunity? None.

Admittidly, if that were to happen, the useless fooker would either hit the crossbar, the post or the keeper. If it were to find the back of the net, it is 100% guaranteed that the keeper would get a touch somewhere

That's a bit harsh IMO.

Why? OK he has had a good run recently, but he is still missing very VERY easy chances. He is running around and helping the midfield a lot to which he deserves credit.

Ultimatley he will be judged on what he does in front of goal and he is yet to prove that he is a natural goalscorer. I think he will though, if the midfield can provide the through balls for him to run on to. It will come, but at the minute, I still rate him as a useless fooker based on results achieved

:o Connolly has managed to get 13 this season with no consistent strike partner. The problem we have is not Connolly or the midfielder, but getting a second striker that can chip in with some goals. Before Sunday our joint second top goalscorers were Dublin, Nalis and SCOWCROFT!!!! IMO we need somebody else that can reach double figures for next year and make a partnership with Connolly!

We need two strikers getting 20+ goals and a high scoring (10+) midfielder IMO.

Well said Will!

Well said me as well.

Connely aint the answer, His antisipation is none existant, he hits the keeper or woodwork a lot, and takes to many touches to get the ball under control. He works hard and when he plays like he did against the sheep he is a major asset, and should be playing ahead of midfield, behind the strikers. Connely is not a a player that hangs around the goal waiting for a cross and that is what we need.

I think Connolly IS the answer and expect him to bang in many more goals next season.

Lets face it, it's been a hellish season really, and it has been his first season. Let him settle in and get comfortable, then the pressure will drop a bit and he'll start smacking them in left right and center.

I think he's been unlucky this season not to get more goals. The woodwork seems to have kept his tally down a lot.
