maybe he should go, he has been with us for well over a year now, and where have we gone? at least one step backwards. wen he first came in he looked ok, well we looked more enegetic and up for it and the signings he made were on the whole, quite good. but this season, well its been a total **** up, we are 3 points out the relegation zone with 21 points from 19 games and only scored 18 goals, im no professional football manager but its quite easy to work out where the problem is, up front, we need 2 or 3 need strikers in january as hammond and IMO DeVries are not upto it and DD is well past his best. But changing the manager might not be the right solution as we will need to pay him off, then find a new manager which isnt that easy. Whats everyone else think? Time for another change?

i'm still behind levein! and i'm confident that we'll finish mid table this season.

i believe he has done an decent job in stopping the rot on a near enough shoe string budget. so next season is when i expect things to pay dividens!

managers that can turn things round on a shoe string budget are few and far between. just hang in there for this season

No, I don't want Levein out. I don't even think we've made a step backwards since he came.

i agree

It's all very well saying get rid of him, but who will we get instead. The replacement would then want to change things round again and bring in their own players.

So if you get rid of the manager you also open the revolving door again for players, so we have another year with very little progress

I'm giving him to the end of FEB, if he hasnt signed anyone in the january window of any potential improvement, i say out

Why not change it around behind the scenes, make Rob Kelly Manager, Black can becomae assistant manager, Dublin some kind of coach, and CL can clean the boots after a match:confused:

what about the McLintock era, feck me that was hard work to watch. He made Taylor look like Ferguson.
In the last 30 years we have had only 2 good managers in Bloomfield and O'Neill. and in that order as well.

I would add Brian Little as a long way third. ;)

Me too. He started the glory days.

Interesting on the Football League review breaking down appearances for Reading that their team has individually. Across the back 4 and midfield the average was about 100 appearances and some were over 150/200 just for Reading.

It puts into perspective the development a team has to go through to make it successful. Its rare a manager can mould a winning team overnight, and if he can its doubtful he would be at Leicester City cause every team would want him.

If we keep chopping and changing the manager we'll never give anyone any chance until once in a blue moon a MON will come along and outstay the 12 game "sack the board/manager/kitman/tea lady" chants and miraculously turn things around.

Things are better than under MA, the team is young, improving slowly and with an addition or two up front to provide a cutting edge we won't be far off being a good side.

I've repeatedly said, we'll finish between 10-12th this season and with a few additions over the next 9 months we'll be challenging for the play-offs next season.

If we change the manager every year then the club/team/squad will never settle and we'll never develop.

He's had a year though!

I'm saying give him til christmas, but a worry for me is, if god forbid we do get drawn into a relegation battle, CL has never had any experience of having to scrap for survival, in this or any division. And if he just keeps playing his namby pamby football when we are fighting for survival we can kiss it goodbye. He needs to grow a pair I think.
