Line Up Vs Watford

This would be my line up to face Watford on tuesday night, bearing in mind the mobility and pace Watford possess especially out wide, I would drop Johansson to the bench and employ an out and out left back.

My team would be :

Defence has been pretty good recently. Hume & De Vries ok up front with Hammond coming on at some point. In Kisnorbo & Gudjonsson we basically have two holding midfielders therefore I would play Smith with Hughes as the two creative men in front of Paddy & Joey. It would mean also that the two full backs would have to do some attacking work on the flanks which would allow the attacking midfielders to support the strikers. It's A home match and we should be approaching it positively.

If Smith doesn't play as well on the right, then maybe stick Hume right wing with Hammond up front, or vice versa. Means the team is more attacking, and gets Sylla out the team

Agreed, don't tinker with the defence. One reason for the improvement is that they are playing regulary and have built a understanding. Maybe thats what we have got to do with the two front men, decide who are the best two and stick with them for a few matches so they built up a relationship on the pitch. As for the midfield it a matter of opinion who should be there. I certainly would like to see Smith & Hughes play together for a period but not sure who else to play with them. Joey or Paddy as the holding player then it's a choice of many for the wide player. Hammil/Tiatto on the left or Sylla/Hammond on the right. Once we have a settled side it might help.

I dont agree, Nissa has struggled on a number of occasions at left back and TBH the only reason we havent been punished is because of the excellent partnership now being forged by the 2 Patrick's. Tinkering with one player IMO would not hinder but help improve what has become a weak link. We have to stop this square pegs in round holes scenario.

I dont agree, Nissa has struggled on a number of occasions at left back and TBH the only reason we havent been punished is because of the excellent partnership now being forged by the 2 Patrick's. Tinkering with one player IMO would not hinder but help improve what has become a weak link. We have to stop this square pegs in round holes scenario.

We will have to agree to differ but this back 4 have conceeded one goal in 4 matches where as the ones before kept 1 cleansheet in 7.I see no advantage in changing it.Yes Johannsson might not be ideal but that back 4 seems to work well as a unit if you start sticking Sheehan/Gilbert in then you might find the unit not working so well.Sheehan as time on his side,he'll get his chance.

Can't believe CL persists with Kisnorbo, i Just don't see what he does for the team. Get Sheehan in, nothing against Nissa, but in our current plight the only way you win games is to score!! Clean sheets are fine but whats the point if you haven't got a hope in hells chance of scoring yourself!!

So why would playing Sheehan mean we have more chance of scoring ? Johannsson as already scored one this Season from defence.I really don't get this sudden scramble for Sheehan,I've nothing against the guy but eveybody is demanding he starts on Tuesday I just don't get it....must be me.

it's just that when Sheehan has played, he's looked good going forward. Got a decent free kick on him as well, much better than the usual rubbish we serve up. Im not against Nissa defensively, its just that we need to increase our options attacking wise. Hence picking Sheehan ahead of Nissa.

But would they not be better enhanced by not playing Hammond who can't score for shite and Dublin who is past it?Surely in order to improve our chances of scoring we need to look at our Attacking options not only Striker wise but atttacking midfielder wise.We have a solid base in Defence who aren't conceeding i.e doing their job,would it not be nonsensical to risk that because the Left Back is not getting forward enough ? In the long term maybe but I think we have bigger problems than that else where.

Reckon I agree with this line up and the comments on kisnobend. Dont see anything I like in him IANGWOCTM. However probably give hammill a go on the left and play smith right. Is hammill fit?
