I've been watching this game all day (day off), and what an England fielding performance. Giles has taken all of the Aussies main batsmen today, and Flintoff is giving them a torrid time (and some bruises).

Close of play Aussies require 35 or so to avoid the follow on, tomorrow will be an exciting days play and could shape the destiny of this ashes series. If we can skittle the tail enders out cheaply then it leaves Michael Vaughan a tricky decision :

1) Does he enforce the follow on in the hope of inflicting an innings defeat. Only draw back there is if the Aussies can compile a competitive total of 350 - 400 which with there batting line up they are more than capable of then it could leave England with the unenviable task of a run chase in the region of 150 - 200 on a turning pitch with Shane Warne on fire.

Or

2) Decline's the opportunity to enforce the follow on and with a lead of in excess of 200, his batsmen can go out and play with relative freedom and without intense pressure, even if England bat poorly and are bowled out for 150 they will still set Australia a massive winning target on a difficult batting track, thus putting all the pressure back on Australia. Big risk with this option is if there are rain delays it may limit the time England have to bowl out Australia for a second time.

Whatever the decision England have set themselves up nicely to go on and win this test match and put themselves firmly in the driving seat to regain the Ashes.
