Maguire suspended against Huddersfield.

The team wouldn't be any weaker without all of the following:

Hamer, Jakupovic, Huth, Amartey, Benny, James, King, Musa, Slimani, Ulloa, Iheanacho. And send Dragovic back.

We need a major clear out of the dead wood. Bring in three new players and promote a few from the U23s.

Both goals came from defensive errors in my opinion. Fuchs allowed Salah wrong side of him and Maguire, well you laid that out yourself.

Yes they are put under pressure because of gaps in the middle and not possessing the ball, but the goals were plainly defenders doing daft things against a brilliant player.

Matty James on the left wing was a puzzling one, wasn’t it?

2 defensive errors from an entire game of our midfield giving the ball to Liverpool and asking them to attack us is not bad.

Feel sorry for Maguire as he was the only player on the pitch able to find a blue shirt. The rest of them **** up all game and he can't rescue them once and it's his fault.

So many players we need rid of, the good thing is I don't really care about most of them anymore, they have proven their attitude isn't good enough.

Maguire needs players who can actually pass and not shit themselves on the ball to take some pressure off.

Great, all the players that don't play anyway.

Anything more helpful up your sleeve?

My point is that we're shipping points and results (including the quarter final v Man City) because our back up players are not good enough. You cannot play the same eleven players all the time. We need to get them out and strengthen the first team which will strengthen the back up players and then promote some of the U23s that are doing so well - Choudhury, Thomas, etc.

I think the main thing going for Puel at the moment is that it's still the squad he inherited and he hasn't had a transfer window. The inevitable good start that most managers tend to get has faded into some bad form. As I said when he first arrived, hopefully he just gets enough to keep the itchy trigger finger away. We need vast improvements defensively and IMO some aerial ability in the team .

Can I just say that our pressing when out of possession was pitiful today compared to Liverpool and it's so frustrating because that was our greatest asset in the title winning season... we really should never again start without Okazaki.

On the plus side - we didn't concede from a set piece for once.

I didn't think that was too bad against a rampant Liverpool. Thought Iborra and N'Didi did OK and Vardy had no chance as isolated as he was. Also thought Amartey did OK after his wank fest against manure.

Just hope Silva is that missing midfield link we badly need to steady the play and find a blue shirt going forwards, not sideways or backwards.

Fingers crossed. It's impressive how many professional footballers we have who can't actually pass a ball more than 2 yards. He'll probably be unfit for a couple of months as is the tradition.

I'm glad that we can score goals.
Only three teams in The Prem have conceded more than us.

I don’t quite get the Gray bashing. He was the player most likely to do something, and was considerably better than Vardy/Mahrez/Albrighton.

Such a frustrating performance yet again. People away from this forum keep asking me why I'm yet to be convinced by Puel and in this game lies the answer. I'm not saying the guy hasn't or won't do okay, he may be great but he has absolutely no plan B whatsoever and our game management from one up during the last two performances has been dire. I'm not blaming the manager before the inevitable onslaught, I am merely saying that the performances against West Ham, Palace, Watford and now Liverpool are not at all convincing from a managerial perspective.

As for the game, Gray, Mahrez and Iborra were absolutely awful throughout. Totally wasteful and bereft of any creative spark at all. Vardy played well enough considering the total lack of anything into feet he had for most of the game. Ndidi was impressive yet again and did his level beat to clear up after Iborra time and time again. The defence are most certainly not to blame and were excellent in that they managed to keep it down to 2 given that Iborra and Schmeichel decided to gift Liverpool free access to the ball whenever they wanted it. Fuchs was poor for their first and Maguire poor for their second but on the whole the defence were pretty solid. Both Maguire and Amartey were extremely strong indeed.

A special word for Kasper. What a shitfest of distribution that was. There can be asolutely no excuse for gifting the ball back to the opposition time and time and time again. He may be a great shot stopper and he may have learned to command his area a little better but if he cannot learn to distribute better he will put us under pressure time and time again.
