Development Squad striker Jacob Wakeling has joined League Two side Barrow in a loan deal until the end of the 2021/22 season, subject to Football League approval.

The 20-year-old striker joined the Foxes from non-league side Alvechurch in 2020 and went on to establish himself in the Development Squad with an impressive 10 goals in 19 appearances last term.

He has scored a further three goals this season and will now have an opportunity to continue his development in the Football League with Mark Cooper’s Barrow, who next travel to Colchester United in the league on Saturday afternoon.

Yeah, but he has a point in my opinion.

We're using the rules to our benefit but I'm not sure I agree with those rules. Injuries and Afcon are not acceptable reasons for postponement. I think we're claiming one Covid case too.

It's a dangerous precedent to be setting and I think Liverpool have already taken the piss cancelling the LC tie last week.

It isn't a good look for us to be simultaneously sending someone out on loan while pleading that we've no players.

I'm not denying that, I was just commenting on his apparent obsession with us, really.

For the record, I'd have no issue with the Premier League following the same rules that the FA Cup seem to be using on this issue.

Not necessarily.

Young players we want to get rid of are often sent out on loan.
