Kelly Focussed On Luton
Rob Kelly says his focus has remained firmly fixed on Luton Town this week - despite events off the pitch.
Kelly was involved in some hectic negotiations on transfer deadline day - losing one player and bringing in three.
But the City boss confirmed that his side had continued to work towards their common goal on the training pitch - obtaining three points at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday when Luton come to town.
He said: "With everything that has been going on this week it was important that we never lost sight of the fact that we have got a very big game coming up against Luton Town.
"Both teams are not where they want to be in the league table and that is something that we don't hide away from.
"I saw Luton on Tuesday night in what was a tough game at Coventry. They have still got spirit and morale. They are certainly not downing tools.
"Sometimes you can play down a situation - but we won't do that. We realise that our game against Luton is an important fixture for us."
Geoff Horsfield, Luigi Glombard and Mark Yeates all took part in their first training session with the Foxes on Thursday, and Kelly confirmed that the 'new boys' may play a part on Saturday.
He added: "All three of the players that I brought in on Wednesday could be included this weekend.
"Geoff hasn't played a lot of football since he was at Leeds - but in a way that could work for him. He's got enough experience and is also a naturally fit player.
"Mark has been playing for Tottenham reserves - I saw him play twice last week.
"Luigi may have only had bits and pieces for the Cardiff first team, he has been playing for their second string.
"So all three of them will come into contention."
Meanwhile, Kelly revealed some worrying news on the injury front.
"Paddy McCarthy fell awkwardly and picked up a bang on his shoulder, but I am hoping that he will be ok.
"Danny Tiatto is a doubt with his hamstring, but we will know more about that ahead of the game.
"But the news on Matty Fryatt is positive. The x-rays on his foot have not revealed any cracks, but he has got soft tissue damage there. He will train on Friday ahead of the game, but he remains a doubt.
"There are areas where we are a bit thin on the pitch, but I am sure most of the teams around where we are have got the same sort of problems. We've just got to get on with it."
