I am not quite sure how Shalimar arrived at the conclusions he did, :icon_roll , but Di Matteo won it. :icon_conf

MANAGERS OF THE MONTH ANNOUNCED

The winners for of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month winners have been announced with Alan Irvine, Roberto Di Matteo and Andy Scott the men rewarded for excellent ends to the season.

Di Matteo took the League 1 award after his side hit top form in the final weeks of the season, winning six of their seven league fixtures. Their month began with a fantastic run of four straight victories against Brighton & Hove Albion, Southend United, Bristol Rovers and Scunthorpe United. Their impressive form continued with maximum points at Northampton Town and Hereford United to cement their place in the Coca-Cola League 1 Play Offs.

Also short-listed for the April award were Simon Grayson of Leeds United, Nigel Pearson of Leicester City and Peterborough United's Darren Ferguson.

Chris Kamara said: "MK Dons had a great end to the season, winning six of their last seven games. Despite their defeat to Walsall, Di Matteo led his team on a fantastic run, and they are sure to be high on confidence going into the Play Off semi final against Scunthorpe this week."

madness really, possibly the worst performing manager of the four nominees during the month wins it...

MK won six games out of seven within the period in question - the best record of the lot

Leeds won five, we won four and Posh won three

Are you suggesting Pearson should have won it ?

To be fair we won 4, drew 2 and lost 1 so Nige didn't really deserve MoM. Manger of the Season definitely.

Di Matteo had the best record of the four nominees.

Points per game for April:

Di Matteo 2.5
Pearson: 2.2
Grayson 2.17
Ferguson 2.0

All for no consequence unlike Ferguson and Pearson. I would also say maybe Russell Slade at Brighton deserves it more than di Matteo. :icon_wink

Without those points they wouldn't have made the play-offs

Hardly 'no consequence' is it ?

After a dismal turn of form for the previous couple of months, what MKDons did for the last few games was exceptional

If they do not get promoted it was for nothing. Unlike Ferguson, Slade and Nige who have achieved something without relying on subsequent games to prove whether the games in April were of any consequence or not. :icon_wink

But this is manager of the month, not season.
