There is a balance to be struck. I sympathise with the notion that we should just 'get at them' and agree that we have the tools to expose some of their key weaknesses. However they also have some excellent qualities and I'd draw parallels with our attempt to 'get at' Arsenal at the KP.
I don't advocate trying to escape with a goalless draw. We should attack Manchester City. But we should do so more intelligently, and probably more sparingly, than I'd expect us to do versus Norwich in three week's time. Keeping our shape will be very important in this one; Manchester City's players move very well off the ball. Keep shape, cede possession, kill them with well timed counter attacking football.
Except that in a parallel universe that day with a goal frame 4 inches further apart we would have been 3-0 up at half-time, with a possibly very different result at the end of the game.
