Pissed off. Missed opportunity.

Weak show all round and costly error from Soyuncu who was excellent aside from that mistake.

We'll argue about the right line up and formation but we've not found one that works right yet. There is as much wrong with us with Maddison in the 10 as with him on the left.

Barnes needs to be in the team. Gray blew his big chance.

Absolutely ****ing fuming with that.

Loss sits at Rodgers feet. Got it completely wrong. Today was a good watermark for where we, and he are. Test failed in my opinion.

Gray? Two DM’s? Maddison wide? None of it made sense today.

Was like watching Puelball all over again.

That system he started with puts so many of our better players on the fringes.

How incredibly frustrating. Lost a tiny bit of respect for Rodgers acumen today.

Well, that was shit really wasn't it. What a horrible little team Manchester United are.

until we learn to beat the top six this season will be an anti climax. pissed off with all of our managers going away to top six sides and going defensive, we have more than enough quality to dominate 90% of the sides in this league.
Gray selection is absolutely baffling and a slap in the face to Barnes and Albrighton, poor selection and poor application from the players today not good enough all round and great opportunity squandered.

Got it wrong from the start. We should have gone there positive and attacked them from the off. Gray over Barnes is scandalous.

This is the most rubbish Utd team I've seen since the 80s. There for the taking & we give them a goal start & paid them far too much respect from the off with an overly defensive setup which wasd rendered useless after 5 minutes. Total missed opportunity. I know it's too early but it looks so far like another season of beating rubbish & falling short against everyone else. People need to find their feet quickly. & I don't think Tielemans has had a good game yet.

Why do we never play to our ****ing strengths. We are an attaching team. Let them ****ing attack. We were our most successful last season when Rodgers let them off the leash. Pissed at this.

The problem with those that want us to drop one of Choudhury or Ndidi for another forward is that nobody has earned a place ahead of one of those midfielders. For the formation you're advocating to work, you need to play two of the the following four:

Perez = shit so far
Gray = shit almost always
Albrighton = no goal/assist threat nowadays so a waste of a place
Barnes = the one with potential but doesn't deliver consistently yet

Until two of the above step up and earn places, you can't have the formation you want. You can have Maddison in the 10 position, but the rest is not good enough. When we changed for the last half hour this afternoon, we looked better in some respects and worse in others.

Apparently Perez never plays well until January. I'd want Gray gone by then if possible. Looks like it's all down to Harvey! Step up lad.

there is always the option of changing formation, Only Rodgers is making us play that way, if he wants Hamza and Wilf he could do so in a Diamond midfield with Maddison as a 10, playing him wide leaves us lopsided and him out of the game far too much

Albrighton was excellent before the break and deserves his place in the team. If not him, then Barnes is an excellent player and had proved that he can have an impact on the game. Perez was fine today and it allowed Maddison to get forward. We have loads of viable options; he chose the wrong one. However you try and defend it, my eyes and the eyes of most people who watched the game today say that the selection was wholly wrong.

Chance to make a statement pissed up the wall. There was no discernible difference in quality, but they worked harder than us and that's disgraceful. Don't think we even showed up until an hour in...

Rodgers got it wrong. Gray should be sent packing nevermind starting, Hamza + Ndidi starting together never works and Rodgers should already know that and Madders is not at his best out wide but the most disappointing thing was that we were beaten because they played with a desire and energy that we didn't.

The formation he started with today limits the influence of players we rely on. It’s not about the performances of the individuals, it’s about getting the most out of the side.

We’ve consistently looked more balanced, Tielemans and Maddison have looked more influential, when Barnes is on the pitch, regardless of Barnes’ individual performance.

Gray did well in his sub app and should have been allowed to build on that gradually, would love to know why he started

that's because when Barnes plays Maddison is back in the midfield 3, you could probably play any of our options there and see Maddison and Tielemans look more influential

Rodgers:

"not got the belief in these games yet"
"soft penalty, Rashford knew what he was doing"
"never got started in first 25 mins"
"need the belief to want the ball"
"got the ability, not the courage"
"Gray earned start, Barnes is impact player right now"
"support was terrific"
"as time goes, we'll learn"

show courage yourself Brendan by not going defensive, you are sending a message by shunting Maddison out of position for another defensive midfielder, have the balls you want your players to show

you cant say Albrighton has had a crack of the whip this season, he is defensively better than the other three and delivers a better cross than the rest!
Barnes has potential and more importantly the desire and will to get stuck in, unlike Gray who is and has been ****ing useless!
