As I'll be spending the weekend in the Manchester city area, could the in-the-know people please suggest places to go/places to avoid :087: on a Friday or Saturday evening?

And what's the best spot for breakfast/dinner?

Budget-sensitive tips only, please.
Thank you.

Find any Wetherpsoons for breakfast. Will be about £3 ... and if you go at 9am you can have a pint with it :icon_lol:

There's a travel lodge on Deansgate next to the Renaissance Hotel which is right in the city centre and about a 15 min walk from the station(well 10 mins how fast you walk!)
And just round the corner from said Travelodge is a Wetherspoons( can't remember the name if it though- summat to do with a moon)
but there's loads of cafes and suchlike within a few minutes walk.

Do you want me to bring your Man City ticket to the Preston game or are you happy to wander around aimlessly til I turn up at the ground?

I've already sorted out accomodation.

But thanks for the hint. And yes, meet you, the other lot and the two tickets at Deepdale on Saturday.:icon_bigg

The Moon under Water is quite a common Wetherspoons name.

Seven days a week, both day and night avoid the canal towpath between the back of Piccadilly station and Castlefields, unless you like walking ankle-deep in used condoms.

Decent cheap meals in Chinatown, especially if you eat earlier on.

I understand that last time a popular member of this forum was in that area, he popped down to nearby Canal Street and photographed the street sign with the two initial letters obscured.

Steven?
