Personally feel a dodgy pre-season wouldn't be a bad thing provided fitness is achieved. Nice and early it tells us where we are shit and need to improve before the transfer deadline. Also, might calm down some unwarrant expectation.

Ialways put friendlies in this order of importance:
1. As many squad players as possible getting some match practice
2. No serious injuries
3. Result (love to win but not too fussed)
