Will be sold by Sheff Wed this Summer.

He believes he will have the choice of four clubs. One of them is us.

He's keen on us.

Our ability to afford him may well be dependant on other factors, but all the above is true. Unless the man himself is lying.

Source?

And a good championship signing, but deffo not a premiership player...

We do not want championship signings. Championship signings keep you in the championship. We need to sign players who are too good for the championship. Of course, I realise that is easier to say than to do.

Wellens is a championship signing imo who has worked really well. I'm doubtful though he will have such an impact in the Premiership, but we'll have to see if we get there.

I'd say we've done pretty well with 'championship signings' so far and if we go up I have no doubt that Nigel will strengthen the side where it is needed. I don't know where this surplus of quality players who want to play championship football is, to be honest out of the whole league there are only three players who spring to mind who I think are too good for this division and they are Coloccini, Gutierrez and Nolan.

IMO there are a lot of players currently plying their trade in the premiership who aren't even nearly good enough for that level.

I'd probably add Dorrens to that list as well.

Chris Brunt, Peter Whittingham & David Wheater.

I would too.
The lad's had a good year. He hits the ball beautifully, and this term he's done well living off the scraps from Bothroyd, Chopra and especially Burke (my player of the year) which, coupled with the penalty taking duties, have given him an enviable scoring record from midfield.
However, for the last two seasons I've been calling him from his hole to his pole for being lazy, slow (getting forward and back), gutless in tackles and 50/50 balls, and flapping in front of goal. All that's changed this year is he has more time to get forward because our attack has been more consistently strong, and as Burkey has done a large amount of the instigating, Whitts has wandered along at the back post and hoovered up.
Don't get me wrong, at this level he can get away with it. But the original question was about the Premiership potential and, based on his performance against Newcastle alone where he was bullied out of the game, my personal opinion is that he will be found wanting.

I'd agree with Wheater, and I guess we'll see with Dorrans. I reckon he will be good in the prem, but I doubt he'll stay with West Brom long if he is.
