Why, he has been top scorer at the club for last 2 seasons, and this one.

His strike rate has improved since his Tranmere games and he is still quite young.

OK, he has to improve parts of his game but he scores for us and is all we have at the minute.

Actually Scarby, he was equal top scorer in 2005/2006 with De Vries but made 29 starts, compared to De Vries' 24. In other words De Vries had a better strike rate. (Gudjonssen scored nine that year too.):102:

aye, i knew that! But over 3 seasons Hume is the only one we can count on to put the ball in the bag.

I agree he isnt a top striker, we need someone who can put 20+ goals away in this divison, and the way Hume is scoring at the minute he could be our man.

Collins John is the one most likely to be prolific, two goals from four starts, Campbell has netted four goals from 11 starts and Hume has started 19 times for his five. On those figures John and Campbell should be our main strikeforce, but they seem to get injured a lot.

Fryatt has 3 from 16, sorry forgot to mention him.

incidentally, Hume at Tranmere scored 6 from 22 starts in 02/03, 14 from 41 in 03/04, 16 from 46 in 04/05 and one goal in 5 starts in 05/06. So he's fairly consistent in that given a full season he'll score around fifteen, even in this league. Not too bad, but we need John or Campbell to stay injury free, or get someone else in IMO.

At the end of the day how many players have shown the kind of passion that MdV has? To break down and physically weep after scoring a goal is just unheard of in football! But MdV doesn't play to anyone else's rules!

Seriously though - I do think MdV should be recalled because he is better than Cort, and imo works hard for the team.

Personally, I think MDV is aboslute fcuking dog shite, but so are we and i'm desperate to see some goals.

What harm can it do, the others are all playing like cnuts too.

Now now, we mustn't get on Marks back, his bad performance rests squarely on our shoulders as us, the fans, should give him a hundred percent backing a hundred percent on the time. It doesn't matter if he's getting paid more per week than most people earn in a month, nor does it matter he's absolute garbage and to pick him in a starting line up shows a serious managerial fault, nope....what really matters is we all listen to the trust and cheer his name deliriously before kick off. If his names not on the team sheet, start a chant, make a banner, go to his home and propose to him. Just. Dont. Boo.

God they really incense me.

I know you're upset with the Foxes Trust, but this is a different thread. De Vries is at Leeds now but his last minute winner against Spurs in the cup and his goal and assist against Watford have largely been forgotten. To say he's garbage is a bit harsh IMO. If he's garbage then Hume is too given his strike rate was worse than De Vries'. :102:

Hume is not a Striker though. :icon_bigg :icon_wink

He doesn't seem to be this year does he? Although, he's still our top scorer at the moment. N'Gotty isn't a midfielder either but he'll probably be in midfield against Ipswich. :icon_wink
