Yes I think I remember it.. didn't they beat Chelsea or Middlesboro in the final? I can't remember exactly..

We beat Boro in the 1st game and Chelsea in the final, I think i was one of about 2 city fans there as i live local but playing Chelsea in the final all the Mancs became foxes for the final.

Just being picky.. the final is at the NIA (not the NEC) and it's at the beginning of September.. (not the end of this month)

I went last night and it was a great night, we played really well with Carl Muggleton playing really well in goal, we should sign him up lol, Lee Philpott looked good too.

The two highlights for me were when Steve Cherry the Notts County keeper fluffed a kick up field from a back pass, letting the ball roll under his foot into the goal, and when a group of 7 or 8 year olds started singing "your not singing anymore" to a group of F****t fans sitting behind us, quality.

One quick question, when did Paul Groves play for us, I dont remember him

Last year the commentator even uttered something about a great shot from Philpott... never heard that before. Well certainly not when he played for us!

In 1993 when he came to Filbert Street with Grimsby, he became the first of our ex-players to score an own-goal in our favour.

The oddest thing about this was at that time, the only player to have scored an own-goal in our favour before joining us had also done it whilst playing for Grimsby - not that anybody here will remember George Mountain (mainly because he played for Fosse over a hundred years ago). Frank Sinclair has of course since managed to accomplish both of these feats!!
