What did Jeff Winter do? I missed it, but gather he made some contraversal decisions

He sent a chelsea player off. A villa player was clear thorugh and was brought down by a tug on his shirt. I think that was a fair decision but the commentators just said it was in the spirit of the event. He also wouldnt allow a goal that went in right on the claxon. Generally just didnt endear himself to the players or the crowd. So pretty typical jeff winter really.

I am not entirely sure they ever needed to have played for the respective club.
surely they need to have played at least one game?

Not sure what Dave Belford the keeper did with us. If he played it must have been short and sweet.
yeh good point I had never heard of him. Just checked the website and it doesnt say anything on there.
Did you know that the trees won it 2000. Strange how they have done everything in the past and now cant do sweet FA!:038: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

How are the Masters players chosen?
Masters players are chosen by the PFA (Professional Footballers Association) based on a number of criteria. Many of the players take part in Vets teams for their clubs and an effort is made to ensure each Masters team is made up of those players that contributed as much as possible to their respective club. Fitness, age and availability are also taking into consideration with the goal of maximising each team's potential.

I guess that's pretty open... Didn't realise the PFA picked the players.

The trees are away at Barnsley next week and could drop into the relegation zone if they lose. How sad.:icon_lol:

He sent a Man City player off for a clear professional foul. The commentators said it wasn't in the spirit of the competition, but committing professional fouls also isn't in the spirit of the competition, so the player was to blame more than the ref, he was just applying the laws of the game. If the ref had let him off people would then have moaned about inconsistent refereeing decisions.

Well, our oldies have won the Masters Cup... our youngsters have won their opening 3 games of the season without conceding... now we just need to get the inbetween stage sorted out! ;)
