You know the world has gone mental when someone sees that the cheapest ticket for several games is going to be £30 and their reaction is:

Time to move to non-league I think.
Not really, conference teams will charge more than a tenner and even Shepshed Dynamo charge £8.

It's time to move to Germany.

They have a long tradition for good beers as well.

My response is taking into consideration other teams in the league?

Do you want me to compare our prices to other non comparable leagues?

No, I understand what comparisons you've made. I'm just saying it's mental that making those comparisons to the price of equivalent alternatives draws people to the completely reasonable conclusion that £30 is a good and fair price. I'm planning to move to the West Midlands soon, and I may be tempted to grab a season ticket at a low level non-league side.

I'd happily pay £30 to watch Premier League. I think that's pretty good value for money.

But then, I wasn't around during "the golden age when a match ticket cost the equivalent of a bottle of milk and you could stand wherever you wanted to".

Good lad. I'd much rather pay £20ish to a non-league side than £30 to a side in a division with TV revenue to burn.

The places I'm considering, £20 will get me a match ticket, programme, something to eat and a return train ticket.
