Including our International Cup matches, the Community Shield, Premier League, Champions League and League Cup matches. 14 of first 16 matches this season are being shown live on tv.

Only the Swansea and Burnley games aren't. Remarkable really.

Mon 2 Jan Middlesbrough v Leicester (12.30pm)

Too late to edit post so I've added in sky/BT into the quote.

Absolute dicks.

That's Boro ruled out.

Can't grumble at the increased TV revenue I suppose. We seem to be getting more than the average amount of televised games again this season despite our poor start...

Can't grumble at the increased TV revenue I suppose.

How does the extra TV revenue benefit supporters?

And we can grumble at the new times making it more difficult and more expensive to get to games.

If I want to go to a home game on a Saturday it has to finish by 5PM if I want to catch the last train home. So that ruled out the Manchester city game. On Sundays there is no kick off time that will allow me to get a train to the match and back again the same day. Same with a midweek game. So the Man U and Liverpool home games are now ruled out for me, unless I have an overnight stay or drive at least part of the way. My knackered old knees mean I can't do the whole journey in one day by car.

I had hoped to go to the Swansea away game, as I've not been to their new ground yet. I expected to have to have an overnight stay on the Saturday night. But now I'd have to stop over for two nights.
The new date also means it won't be possible to get from Leicester to Swansea and back on the same day by train (and even if you could there would be a bus for part of the journey).

Plastic

That is absolute wank

Sunday afternoon games are a complete ball-ache, and are not part and parcel of a proper footballing weekend

And Monday night games simply shouldn't happen at all - they are complete and utter shite, especially with an eight o'clock kick off

What a load bollocks

Modern football is arsebiscuits

I do sympathise with this. However, as long as you accept that Sky/BT pay enough to be allowed to show 168 matches a season and they can't show matches at 3pm on Saturdays, what is the alternative?

The Monday Liverpool game might suit as we are away at Seville mid week.

Hopefully more people cancel subscriptions and watch streams on the internet, sooner they can't pay these stupid fees to ruin football the better.

The obvious answer is the premier league allowing 3pm games to be shown. Most prem stadiums are quite full anyway and Lako rightly says, anyone can find a stream.

It's not the attendances at the other Prem grounds that the FA are seeking to protect.
