GARY MEGSON is ready to raid former club Leicester with a £1.5m swoop for England under-21 international Joe Mattock.

Bolton boss Megson will enter a summer tug of war for Mattock and aims to rival Aston Villa and West Ham for the 17-year-old's signature.

Megson was impressed with Mattock's versatility on the left of either defence or midfield in his brief spell in charge of the Foxes last year.

And he will make an offer for the teenager this summer as he attempts to build a younger, hungrier squad at the Reebok for next season.

Can't see Milan selling to Megson, as he did him over when moving to Bolton, unless he gets Megson paying seriously over the odds in comparison to other bids.

Can MON buy him & then loan him back to us for a season, or is that not allowed now?
