Or maybe the board have already canvassed the major shareholders for their opinions and notified them of the details of the bid thus allowing them to make a decision.

And if that's a case it would just be a question of how long it takes for enough shareholders to confirm it in writing.

That's essentially what I meant - we have been told that they have been kept informed & that the negotiations were all about overcoming their problems/worries/misgivings.

But as Jeff says, they need it in writing - many a slip....

I should think that enough of the shares to give control are sewn up - the board have 33% so that's only another 17%.

For the full 90% to demand total ownership - less likely.
