Money was most definatley the issue. I have an email from Tim davies saying that his wage demands were ridiculous.

Well DF I`ll bow to your superior knowledge. after all you know the "top man" his finger is right on the pulse when it comes to football issues

If you dont think Tim Davies would be involved in the discussion of contract terms with potential signings then I dont know who would be!

I challenge you to reveal your 'source' - which by the way has never seemed to deliver!!

Your sarcasm does you no favours here. If my/Nottingham foxes links with Tim Davies arent appreciated we may as well not bother letting you lot know what he says.

What made me say that was Tim Davies telling DF that McAteers wage demands were so high. The problem in the medical was the realisation that he had a scouse accent.

But if there was a medical problem, and McAteer insited on getting the same money as if he hadn't got the problem, wouldn't that lead to Davies saying he was demanding too much money?

I can't believe he would have the medical before talking about money, it seems only logical that the medical was the cause of the problem.

If he really was demanding too much money and there wasn't a problem with his medical, he's obviously made a big mistake because he'll be getting nowhere near as much at Tranmere.

If it was the medical then why was his agent saying the following day that they were still in discussion with the club? discussion about what? If you fail a medical, thats it - move off. The club cannot insure players that fail medicals thats why they have them.

The story I heard isn't that he failed his medical, but there was a potential problem spotted when he had the medical.
The club thought it would be too much of a risk paying top wages to someone with a high risk of injury, so they wanted to structure the contract to make it payable based on appearances, and this is what McAteer refused.

You might be right webbo. I am only passing on th info I receive which given the source should be reasonably water tight.

I heard the same thing as Webbo, McAteer only to be paid full wage when available to play. My sister got that from a physio that she works with that also works with LCFC.

He has signed for someone else...Amen...now can we shut up about the guy?!?!

The rumour i heard was to do with the length of contract, i heard he wanted 3 yrs we offered 1. Prob linked to the medical
