Thank goodness for that.

Completely agree Alex.... Paddy Mac is a liability. I feel so much more confident with Kisnorbo and McCauley at the back. I think I would even prefer Kenton or Johanson there over McCarthy...

Hinted on another forum that he might be fecked for good - but just a rumour

Well after all the reliable info on these forums in recent weeks, we may as well send him a retirement card then :icon_roll

That's right, I think McAuley clearly has a lot more to offer than McCarthy. Well done to RK for signing him :038:

Another shrewd signing

But his comical value makes up for it. Against Ipswich he was brought on for Horsfield but actually played as a striker, I thought it was quite a laugh seeing him up there with Hammond, the two of them like headless chickens...

I remember you all slagged me off when I said he was crap a few months ago, but now you're all at it aswell :icon_roll

Never rated him and have not seen any sign of improvement over the time he has been here.
Hope his injury isn't too bad but I wouldn't mind him going.

McCarthy Woe

Rob Kelly has today confirmed that he will definitely be without skipper Paddy McCarthy for the rest of the season.

McCarthy dislocated his shoulder in a freak training ground accident ahead of the Luton Town game a fortnight ago.

And following surgery on Wednesday, Kelly was able to cast further light on the fitness of the Republic of Ireland defender.

He said: "The operation went very well, but he won't play again this season.

"That's disappointing because he is a player for us who is a leader both on and off the pitch.

"But the most important thing is that he now gets himself right and we he will be ready for the start of next season."

Meanwhile, Kelly confirmed that apart from the loss of his captain things were looking a little more positive on the injury front.

He added: "Stephen Hughes (groin/back), Gareth McAuley (calf) and Matty Fryatt (foot) are all back in training now, so we will have to wait and see how they react to that ahead of the game on Saturday."

that was on skytext last week or beginning of this week..theyre not exactly up to date are they

i'd not be too gutted if he never played again for us. he started with promise but then proved he's a total feckin liability, if you get booked you dont respond by shouting until getting sent off.

McCarthy is too ill disciplined. Strong tackles I can forgive but getting sent off for dissing the ref is stupid and unprofessional. Kisnorbo and MaCauley are a much better combination.

Soon we'll have to stop calling these training ground injuries "freak"

We have to remember that a certain legend that played in the number 5 shirt was even worse in his youthful early days at City.

It would appear that Kisnorbo & MaCauley are our best pairing, but don't give up on him yet.

Walshie got his cards for clumsy tackles, not for dissing the officails. I can cope with McCarthy's best efforts to defend but some of his bookings are plain srupid.
