McCarthy Woe
Rob Kelly has today confirmed that he will definitely be without skipper Paddy McCarthy for the rest of the season.
McCarthy dislocated his shoulder in a freak training ground accident ahead of the Luton Town game a fortnight ago.
And following surgery on Wednesday, Kelly was able to cast further light on the fitness of the Republic of Ireland defender.
He said: "The operation went very well, but he won't play again this season.
"That's disappointing because he is a player for us who is a leader both on and off the pitch.
"But the most important thing is that he now gets himself right and we he will be ready for the start of next season."
Meanwhile, Kelly confirmed that apart from the loss of his captain things were looking a little more positive on the injury front.
He added: "Stephen Hughes (groin/back), Gareth McAuley (calf) and Matty Fryatt (foot) are all back in training now, so we will have to wait and see how they react to that ahead of the game on Saturday."
