Looked very good attacking but poor defensively, the defense is a concern but apart from that nothing to worry about!

I didn't think European players needed international clearance. Am I just totally wrong, or is there a reason, in this case?

Just as an aside, where's all the money coming from to pay these new guys a wage they would sign for, perhaps the duty free money is already being spent.

If we have a similar budget to last season, the money is coming from not paying the likes of Waghorn, Vaughan, Spearing and McGivern who are no longer with us.

All players coming from clubs (or whose most recent club was) outside England must receive international clearance before they can play for an English club. It's just red tape.

Players from EU countries don't need a work permit, but that's not the same thing.

If you sign a player from another country you need to get clearance from that country's football association to make sure the player is not still under contract.
