Micky Adams vs Craig Levein - The Stats

Just thought I would give you all another talking point for the day now that Levein has had almost as many games as Adams had:

Adams: Team performances averaged 6.02 over 13 games.
Levein: Team performances averaged 5.85 over 12 games.
Bassett & Wilko: Team performances averaged 6.16 over 4 games.

This is not me arguing for or against anyone, just providing you lot with something else to talk about!

As Levein is playing with Adams' legacy of shite players, over the hill players, short term stop gap players, and don't give a flying f*ck players, you really cannot make any decent comparison.

All it does show it that the squad assembled under Adams is complete and utter shite, regardless of who is in charge

Exactly - I have written this season off. All we can do is rebuild what Micky destroyed. Looking back I dont know how he thought it would ever work. Thise age stats against QPR earlier in the season were frightening.

I am, and I don`t buy the "inherited" bull shit, as I`ve said many times, we, the media, the pundits and other managers all tipped THIS SET OF PLAYERS to not only go up, but to win the league, they TURNED OUT to be characterless and without motivation, as it turns out it would`nt matter one jot who was in charge of them they would be the same, Craig is a decent manager as was Micky, it`s this set of players who must go if we are to achieve anything as a club ! come the summer this will happen, as it would have had Micky stayed, let`s hope Craig can assemble a squad to put us back in the top flight where we belong !

But the point old JW/Oadby Fox/Chandler harps on about is that we were boneheaded to get rid of MA because Levein isn't doing any better.

The point I'm making is that this squad is entirely of MA's making, and that is why he had to walk. That is all. Sadly his legacy is to leave us with a collection of complete and utter shite - and that is a crying shame

Suggesting that supporters and the media thought they were good signings doesnt defend Micky Adams' position. Surely he should know more about these players, have an in depth knowledge etc. Suggesting he did no wrong is like saying MK might as well have assembled the squad for the season.

You dont need to be a genius to work out that a collection of 30+ yeard olds wernt going to have to desire for the fight. Micky Adams made the decisions and was man enough to stand down when he realised he had done wrong - end of story IMO.

OK, this will be my LAST word on this subject of Micky Adams, he is in the passed and the future is what matters now, Micky assembled what he thought was a very decent squad, no one would deliberately buy bad players ! certain pundits DO know there stuff as do other managers, the bookies are also "careful" with their money, EVERYONE thought we would do the bizz, the managerial change has proved that the players NOT the manager are the cause for our under performing I do not blame Micky for our predicament nor do I blame Craig for failing to turn things around, until these characterless bunch of under achievers are consigned to the bin things will continue to look bleak, AM & MDV MAY help to get things back on track, we can only wait and see, either way I shall be at EVERY game, home and away and will sing myself hoarse, what about you ?????
