Marmalade is usually citrus fruits, eg orange, tangerine, lemon etc, and only contains bits of the peel. Jam is usually made with smaller fruits, and includes the whole fruit.

Plus, jam usually comes in jars which say 'Jam' on them, whereas Marmalade does not.
