Tons of chances? I'm not sure which games you've been watching.

Yes he hasn't hit the heights of last season, but when the tactic is to launch it up to him then what chance does he have? He's 5ft 10" so it's not surprising he rarely wins the ball against 6ft 2" centre backs.

The service he has had has been nothing short of ****ing abject.

almost as bad as his first touch and his shooting.

I'm amazed how people are still making excuses for him. I did for the first month but come on he has been appaling.

Which means less to us now? FA Cup or Champions League?

I hate the thought of writing off any game but I'd rather, at this point, 'rest' our preferred side (whatever that might be) for the midweek Champions League fixture knowing full well that we risk an even bigger tonking; numbness sets in after 5 anyway.

I 'd like to see us use the Millwall tie to give a new look side a run out with a view to them being the starting lineup when Prem activities recommence. I guess it also seems fitting - and I'm pretty sure someone else said this - that the side that got us into the Champions League be the one's to bow us out.

I make it sound simplistic don't I? Like we have two distinct teams. Truth is, there'll be mix and match obviously... but you get the gist.

I think we should be trying to win every game. we need a new mindset. I also believe that we need to make a lot of changes so playing the team in all matches is important to set us up for a good run-in. The team we need haven't played 1 minute of game time together this season. Let's give them that time against League 1 opposition and Champion's league opposition so that we can stuff Liverpool and the rest of the league in our Great escape part deux.

He has been appalling, but not all his own fault. He is definitely partly to blame, but not as much as you're making out.

If you put Messi up front in our team at the moment with our current tactical plan, he wouldn't stand a chance.

I'll take messi, thanks.

I'd even take Giroud over Vards.

If today's Millwall is similar to the Millwall of old, then I think we probably need some experience like Morgan and Huth to deal with the elbows, tugs and kicks.

No point in sending talented youngsters to get kicked and elbowed off the park!

Big Was would relish the tie!

I personally would play as many of the absolute duffers against Millwall as possible.

I would then bring in the likes of Amartey, Benny, Chilwell, Ndidi, Gray, Albrighton, Slimani, Musa, Kapustka against Sevilla and in the league.

You didn't mean to include Albrighton in that list did you?

I thought he played well in the Derby game, passed the ball out rather than just hoofing it Huth style and managed to stay out of the ref's book.

That in itself was impressive. In fairness to him, he was very measured and controlled... most of the time. Did he almost turn it into his own yet with a wayward flyhack?? But, yes, you're right. Both he and Benny looked to play the ball out rather than hoof it. But then there was somebody showing from midfield showing to take a pass.

So Huth hoofs it? I don't buy this. Also, a defender that hoofs the ball is perhaps dealing with a midfield that are offering little in way of options.

Fair point. Huth often knocks it square to Morgan, who in turn knocks it short to Drinkwater, who knocks it back to Simpson, who plays back to Drinkwater, who plays back to Kasper.... who then hoofs it long. Or a variation on that theme. But Huth himself... ;)

to be fair to him Drinkwater is often so deep he's in line with Huth and Morgan and not really providing an option, that is one of he main reasons I want Drinkwater out of the team

Your right about Drinkwater's position. He needs to be 10 yards further up the pitch and trust the centre backs to find him.

yes it was against Derby but Mendy and King were 10-15 yards higher, got he ball on the half turn and knocked it off to another midfielder, I noticed yesterday, Fuchs, underpressure played it to Drinkwater who had plenty of time and space to turn but instead he does what he always does, fire a pass right back where it came padding his stats and Fuchs had no choice but to lump it

The main reason I think we should drop Drinkwater is because hes brain dead on the ball. Always too slow to think and then disposessed. Ndidi + Mendy or King should be our first choice in the league. Arguably at might be a good idea to play Drinkwater, Fuchs, Vardy, Huth, Morgan in this game and save the others for the league!

Obviously there needs to be changes, but does CR select a team to play in the next 2 cup games and then into the league?
Plenty of players going to media with "rallying cries" but imo its these players that are not rallying eg Wes Huth Fuchs Drinkwater Vardy. Players will be given a chance (as they did vDerby) but maybe if they perform well they have a greater chance of staying in the team. Surely Wague must play in this, obviously Benny Armartey, Mendy Musa Okazaki, Kapuska. Imhoping for a morale lifting 2-1 win Okazaki Kapuska
