I am pleased since I feel Michael Morrison has great potential. Two years ago he was playing non-league and now he has displaced an experienced professional at right back which is not his position. I hope that in the future Hobbs and Morrison will develop into Premiership players and become the new Sjoberg and Cross or for more recent fans Taggart and Elliot

I am pleased with this news. Morrison will develop into a much better player.

Good stuff. Suspected he might be getting a little frustrated at his lack of pitch time but this is good news.

Plucked from Cambridge I would hope he has no feelings that he should demand a starting place in a Championship side.

Good news though, think he will turn into a great player.

Have you seen Neilson? If I was Morrison I'd 100% expect to be starting on account of the fact he is the best right back at the club.

I thought Neilson was a strange signing...

10 years or so clogging around the SPL - only one cap for Scotland who have never been weaker- all in all didn't add up to much.

Looks like I was right....

You may well be right. Certainly Nigel thinks Morrison is the best right back. However, I was very impressed by Luke O'Neal (not sure I have spelt it properly) against Real in the pre-season friendly. If O'Neal is not going to get on the bench he needs to ber on loan. Young players need pitch time in competitive matches.

Good news i have no doubt he will eventually be a regular centre back but Neilson is crap so why not put MM inthat position.

:038::038::038: Good lad. Definitely a great prospect.

I've only seen the Newcastle game this season (on the telly) as I work most matchdays whether it's midweek or on a Saturday. I manage to listen to the radio and read the opinions on here. From what I've read about Morrison playing in the right back position, he's steadily improving and I've got no doubt he'll improve over the course of the season. So, I'm really glad he's signed a new contract.

Neilson, however, seems to have only had a handful of decent games and a few more dodgy ones. Seeing the Watford goals on the telly, all I could see was him defending very badly. I still hope he can be a useful squad member but I'm always sceptical about the ability of players who come from the SPL. He was at Hearts when Maybury was there and Levein decided he was the better player to bring here and after a good start for us, he trailed off into a poor excuse of a player. But if Neilson isn't as good as Maybury then I can't see him being good enough whatsoever.

I know Neilson may not be the best footballer in the world, but I doubt Mandaric is the answer.
