If you have no ventilation then I would imagine this would make it worse as it would increase the amount of condensation, but I could be very wrong.

Not really. Ventilation is important, but cavity insulation will help to stop with wall being as cold and condensing any water vapour.

True, by adding extra insulation you will change the dew point of the air travelling through the wall and stop the build up of interstitial condensation.
