A scene for the latest instalment of a popular football movie series is being shot at the Walkers Stadium.

Lorries and trailers were parked by Leicester City's ground yesterday and wires trailed on to the pitch area.

Goal 3 was being shot at the Walkers for one day only. It's the third part in the series, which began with Goal! in 2005.

Directed by Andy Morahan and written by Mike Jefferies and Piers Ashworth, the film follows three footballers chasing their dreams at last year's World Cup finals in Germany.

Kuno Becker, JJ Field, Leo Gregory and Kasia Smutniak star in the movie.

Director Andy said: "We have a great script which brings a new level of emotion, adventure, humour and drama to the story, and a fabulous cast.

"The chemistry between the actors during rehearsals was electric. We're all buzzing."

Goal 3 will be ready in time for next year's Cannes film festival.

The movie will be released next summer.

Saw them all down there yesterday while i was at a seminar. wondered what was happening

"Carry On Footballing" would have been more appropriate.

can we sign em?? who,s there manager?

Isn't the bloke supposed to be playing for LA Galaxy in Goal 3? In which case, why the feck are they doing some filming at the Walkers?

Wondered why the walkers car park looked like a gypo camp, i assumed Milan was trying to increase non matchday revenue by hiring it out.

It would be interesting to see goal 3 at the walkers. Especially as watford never happened

stan laurel and ollie hardie would be more fitting for a film at our place right now. i saw the original goal film, on a foxes travel coach on the way down to plymouth, felt really ill and the shite geordie accents....."josh, dads found ya scoootaah" sort of awful

See they plan to film a comedy farce down there soon....

.... oh sorry it's the press conference to announce our new manager

Apparently this is the part of the film where his life descends into a nightmare.

His career at the Galaxy is failing, the coach feels his performances have been poor. His team mates feel he's dragging the rest of them down with him. So the manager of the Galaxy has no choice, he informs the player with the worst possible news and professional could ever hear....'You're Going To Leicester City On Loan'

The player is distraught after hearing this awful news. He desperately pleads with Galaxy manager not to send to him to the footballing cesspit of the world. His pleas fall on deaf ears as his flight has been arranged to depart the following day. He asks the Galaxy manager to have mercy on his soul by requesting he be sent anywhere other than Leicester, but unfortunately for the player both clubs have agreed terms and there's no way back. He has to go. After reluctantly arriving at LAX he boards the flight in fear of what awaits him. Tears pour down his face for the whole duration of his journey to Nottingham East Midlands Airport. But to make matters worse none other than 'THE BIRCH' is there to greet him in arrivals. Birch's jokes fail to lighten the mood but actually send him into a state of rage and disbelief that he ended up in this hell hole.

At the Belvoir training ground Frank Burrows the Leicester City manager adds further insult as he informs the player that he'll be playing in the reserves while he settles into his new life in Leicester and learns the local language. He can't believe it, as the first team play out dull 0-0's and 1-nil home defeats to Burnley, he's left pondering if he'll ever make it into the squad. It's unfortunate for the player as Leicester's world class quality striker Carl Cort is keeping him out of team. Since he arrived the reserve team coach Beagenhole has given Elvis the duty of showing the player around the city. At which point things go from bad to worse as he gets caught up in drunken nights out with Elvis's posse causing all kinds of trouble in town. With his fitness levels deteriorating from excessive drinking and his newly developed addiction to fried chicken, the Leicester management team have their concerns. But after some awful performances in the reserve team the clubs management team still feel the player has potential and sign him permanently on a 5 year contract worth £50,000 per week.
