Yep, another of Walsh's big money donkeys. Imagine we'd stumped up the cash and signed him in January 16 - we'd have probably never won the league.

If we'd signed him in January 2016 when we had a bid of about £22m rejected (iirc they were holding out for £24m and we very nearly paid up), I think we'd have been compelled to play him, which would have disrupted our stable first 11 at precisely the time it needed no disruption and also weakened the team. Hence, we probably wouldn't have won the league.

No chance that he would have got into that team. Ranieri is a much better manager than that. I imagine he would have played about as much as Gray. I also think he would have done a lot better in that team compared to last year's (but so would anyone).

Musa is a frustrating player to watch but to think that his mere presence would have derailed our title campaign is a bit over the top

I think it's fair to say if he'd signed in that January we'd probably be in the conference by now.

I think the idea of us spending £24m on him and then just not playing him is cloud cuckoo land stuff tbh. At the bare minimum he'd have been coming off the bench for Shinji and when Vardy was out Musa would have been his direct replacement.

Then consider the psychological impact of a transfer record smashing striker coming into that team and turning out to be a bit shit and not really settling in with the rest of the lads. We all saw how quickly and easily the 'band of brothers' team spirit fell to pieces last season after a few signings, one of which was of course Musa himself.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that the arrival of this mega expensive highly paid shit striker might have unsettled the team and especially the ego's of the likes of Vardy to a significant degree.

And that run in with those 1-0 wins was done on very fine margins. Not Nigel Pearson fine margins. Real fine margins. Margins fine enough that a little knock to the team spirit could well have made a significant impact.

But anyway, the real point of my earlier post was to shoehorn in the fact that he was a crap signing made by Walsh, as frankly I'm sick of people forgetting that it was predominantly Steve Walsh who ****ed up last summer's recruitment, and with it the best opportunity this club has ever had to properly progress.
