It is now obvious that desperate measures are required to bolster our midfield.
Maybe my suggestions are OTT for this league, but I feel, if available, that these players would help us out. They have all proven at various points over their careers that they can be be bought in to perform a rescue operation, and very rarely have these guys failed.
I suspect that their footballing skills could do with a bit of improvement on the training ground, but as Rob Kelly as alread stated, that is the key and that is where they will be working hard. I believe they will have the passion and the fight to overcome this.
All of them are getting on a bit and are no doubt coming to the end of their careers, but I still believe they fell they have something to prove.
Personally I would like to see them armed, but that is against the laws of the games, though I'm sure they would put the fear of god into most other midfields and defences just with their sheer presence.
Whilst I expect the two wingers to be loud, brash and in your face, I expect the 2 central midfielders will remain fairly quiet until needed, then they will completely take the opposition by storm with an unexpected all out attack resulting in the carnage and mayhem in the opposing enemy territory.
