Alot of you have read my views over the past few months. I have said craig should have gone end of dec early jan so a new manager would have had the transfer window and more games. Leaving it later makes the job a lot more less attractive. With newell knocking us back this has come into reality. I think we have already made our club look a mockery by approaching numerous manager's who are employed in succession especially leeds who we had next to no chance of succeeding.

Kelly has now won his first 2 league games and appears to have a different manager style to craig, his management style is more to my liking eg. putting kisnorbo is a stronger position and not making half a dozen changes after a win. He also evidently can enspire more motivation during half time.

We know kelly wont take on the job full time but I think we should ask him to finish off the season with the aim of avoiding relegation and then look for a new manager at the end. Looking at the top of league one their is 3 or 4 manager's who would be suitable but they are not all going to get promoted so their will be one or 2 dissapointed in the summer and will be tempted by joining LCFC, now we are not attractive but come summer we will be. It may also be the case that if blackwell gets leeds up they wont renew his contract and he will be available. Davies at preston last I heard is on a rolling annual contract and also in theory is there for the taking in the summer if preston dont go up.

Whats everyone else's views on my ideas.

For the record, I agree with what you have said entirely, it doesn't need yet another new post to say it though

the bloke's allowed to post, there's just no point in another thread when there's already several fopr the same subject

OK, just read my post again, I should have said new thread and not new post, sorry

Yeah I wrote my post then read the other one very similiar to mine after so didnt realise before otherwise it would be in the same thread, I do appreciate this thread not been merged but if it was merged I would understand.

I was having a bad day Yesterday, every thread I seemed to read was on about the vacant managers position & all saying the same thing.

I apologise for venting my anger directly at your thread

It's alright Jeff, you just report it and we will make our own minds up. :023: :icon_razz ;)

Keep Kelly on until the end of the season, see what the situation is then. I'm kind of hoping that Preston lose in the play offs and we stay up and then we make an approach for Billy Davies again who by that time will be out of contract?

No Davies is on a 12 month rolling contract, but should PNE fail to win promotion this season, I would expect Davies to be more inclined to move on in the summer, he is fustrated that his ambitions are not matched by the Preston board or the public.

As for Highland's comments regarding Levein, I thought exactly the same as soon as I had heard Lambert had resigned.

But our ambitions any higher than PNE's ? It would seem doubtful judging by the trouble we are having attracting a Manager..

Davies is fustrated with the lack of transfer funds available, he knows as Hume and Fryatt prove, that the likes of PNE do struggle to attract players when in direct competition, also the crowds are poor at PNE especially when you look at there position. We have excellent resources and given the right manager, the potential at Leicester far outweighs anything Preston can offer.

PNE are still a selling club, they have lost a number of key players, due to the financial / wage structure at the club, if they dont win promotion this season then Nugent will no doubt move on, and in a similar vein as to when Heskey left us, it will confirm to Davies, as it did with MON, that he had taken the club as far as he could.

But there are other Clubs even in this Division with more potential than us and we are still a selling Club,we'll have to disagree PFKA but I fail to see what is so attractive about managing our Club and it would seem I'm not alone.

I know what you are saying, but I live down here and I read / hear many articles and interviews with Davies, I also see / hear first hand the goings on at Preston, and that is why I appreciate what we have at Leicester, compared to PNE we are a massive club with fantastic resources and fanbase, if Davies can achieve what he has with PNE, despite the hindrances, then surely he will be confident of exceeding those achievements at a club with our potential.

As for not seeing the attractions of managing Leicester, and you stating you are not alone, I assume you are meaning other managers, as far as I can see, as yet we havent offered the job, Newell came for 2 interviews so he was keen, Cotterill would have been here in a flash but wasnt prepared to do the dirty on Burnley, and according to the Foxes Trust, Davies' agent approached the board and intimated that were he offered the position he would accept, but again as a man of principles he would not walk out on PNE.

IMO the only reason these clubs refused permission to talk with their managers was because they knew if given the opportunity they would accept, if not then surely all of them would have ruled themselves out and it would not have required an approach. Not one of these managers have actually stated that they dont want the job.
