But if you win the Conference League you qualify for the Europa league, so you can play an under strength team and get yourself knocked out at the group stage again next season.

All whilst the fans think the season is a failure if we don't qualify for Europa football and then when we do the same fans are pissed off that we aren't playing the reserves to concentrate on winning league games to qualify for.... Oh you get the point

The classic system of European Cup for champions, UEFA Cup for everyone else (I wouldn't bring back the cup winners cup though) was actually perfect in a footballing sense.
Elite competition for champions. Quality competition for others. Major trophies both.

As an aside, I think this is the 4th time this season that Perez has missed a game(s) due to 'illness',
Six of those seven spent some time sitting together on the bench on Sunday. It could possibly have been spread there or in a training session on Monday for those that didn't play the full match.
