New ex-players (and managers) thread

Neil Danns sent off for violent conduct a couple of minutes from the end of Bury's game at Bristol Rovers. No reports of him fighting either the fourth official or his own manager on the way off.

Can't believe Rowett was sacked. It will serve Brum right now that they end up in a relegation fight and get nowhere near the playoffs. The new owners have ideas of grandeur and must have someone lined up on big money- Zola has been mentioned - he flatters to deceive tbh. Or Big Sam? Would he go down a level though. Can't see it being Nigel Pearson either.

Kevin Poole amongst the coaching staff who lost their jobs as well. So whoever is coming in has his own team of people.

Zola confirmed. That is up there as one of the most ridiculous decisions in football.

It's becoming the norm. Foreign investors with no real knowledge of football want a manager with a big name at the club. It's all about getting the club a high profile immediately, it's short-termism personified.

I like Zola, a nice bloke, was a terrific player but not a good coach/manager. In the long run sticking with Rowett would more than likely have proved successful and got the club noticed.

You would have to be a right dick of an owner to go for a fancy name manager. What sort of a nutjob would appoint someone like Sven for instance?!

Lloyd Dyer equalises against Newcastle with his fourth goal of the season in 22 starts. I'm so proud of him.

Yann Kermorgant tried the chipped penalty again yesterday, having earlier opened the scoring for Reading.
And he hit the bar!! Thus failing again, does he ever learn. Then like an idiot he tried to volley in the rebound, but fortunately for Reading McCleary got there first to head in to give Reading their second goal.

Great goal by Knockaert in that 3-0 victory by Brighton over QPR and then he made a tribute to his recently deceased father.

Holloway heading for failure once again. He might not be sacked in the morning, but it won't be too long at this rate.
