Danny Tiatto swaps to number 11, with fellow Australian Patrick Kisnorbo inheriting his former number three shirt. Jordan Stewart reverts to the number 23 shirt that he donned in his formative years with the club.

Midfielder Stephen Hughes takes over the number four shirt vacated by Nikos Dabizas, with Patrick McCarthy moving from 20 to five.

Gareth Williams trades 16 for six, while new signing Momo Sylla takes up Keith Gillespie's number seven shirt.

Good god, when you look at that squad, we don't have much cover outside of the first 11 :034:

A couple of strikers, a left back and a centre half and we have the makings of an automatic promotion side. ;)

They are giving Durham's arse 2 squad numbers this year...

Wow, that's pretty unusual... Pretty much the whole squad have changed numbers, doesn't usually happen. I suppose it makes sense this year, seeing as most of the 1-11 had left, or don't play. Thought Hughes would take 8 though, with Connolly being 10. Weird changing Tiatto to 11, he doesn't seem like an 11. Does Jordan moving to 23 show that he isn't in the first team plans?

Some of the changes I don't see the point of.. Why move Stearman from 17 to 19? Feel sorry for those who got numbers printed on the new home shirt already ;)

Just looking, and I could be wrong, but is Dion the only player with the same number as last season?

?

11 is the traditional number for someone who plays on the left of midfield / left wing, so it's the most obvious number for him to have.

even though he's shocking on the "wing" and should never play there

Yeah, I think that's why he doesn't seem like an 11, he doesn't seem like a proper winger.
