Has anyone else noticed that Hossein Kaebi is our new reserve keeper??
Maybe - but remember he is sooooo fast that playing in goal will not prevent him making lightening raids into the opposition penalty area.
Martin Allen gave another huge pointer to his thoughts on Leicester City's pecking order with the announcement of squad numbers for the new season.
The first 11 names on the list feature eight of his new signings.
The list is headed by Danish goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen - and James Chambers, Bruno N'Gotty, Stephen Clemence, Radostin Kishishev, Carl Cort, DJ Campbell and Shaun Newton are also right in there.
Of last season's squad, only Patrick Kisnorbo, Gareth McAuley and Iain Hume feature in the top 11.
Matty Fryatt (12) and Richard Stearman (17) keep the same numbers as last season and, significantly, two of the six transfer-listed players, Elvis Hammond (19) and Mark de Vries (20) get a shirt. However, Stephen Hughes, Alan Maybury, Darren Kenton and Rab Douglas do not.
With City still looking at more new signings, no shirts have been given for numbers 26, 27 and 28, which would allow for three possible arrivals.
But it is the top 11 which looks like forming the basis of the new side, and there is always a psychological boost for any player in that bracket.
City boss Allen will look for signs of determination from those below the line to stake strong claims for a starting place, and he senses that all the players appreciate the challenge.
He said: "The players have been rather quiet at times and that could be a bit of fear as they know we are still trying to get more new players in. But it is up to them to show what they can do."
The situation of Hammond and de Vries, thought to be out of the door early on in Allen's reign, should act as an example to all the others.
After a relaxed day yesterday, it was back to the grind today as the squad worked towards their stiffest test so far, Saturday's clash with Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock, who went down 3-1 to Neil Lennon's Nottingham Forest side on Tuesday night, bizarrely all Forest's goals coming from the penalty spot.
City have no knocks to report and will again field a strong side, probably very much along the lines of those first 11 numbers.
I suspect we will not see his true first XI choice until the 2 or 3 new players, Kisnorbo, Kaebi and Cort are all available for selection.
That might possibly be the Portsmouth game as Kisnorbo is suspended for the Blackpool game.
Hendo is betterBased on what I've seen of him I would be pretty shocked if casino Jimmy starts the season.
