Having said that, it seems unlikely that he will manage to avold another yellow card until January - so could miss either Liverpool or ManCIty.
That would be far more preferable.

Head to head

  • Newcastle have won just one of their past seven Premier League home games against Leicester (D1, L5).
  • Leicester have won six Premier League away matches versus Newcastle, more than against any other opponent.

Newcastle United

  • Newcastle have gone four league games without a win and have won just two of their past 11 (D4, L5).
  • The Magpies have 20 points after 15 matches; they were on 30 points at this stage in 2022-23 and 26 points in 2023-24.
  • Eddie Howe's side have conceded seven goals in their past two matches.
  • Newcastle have won just one of their five most recent home league games (D2, L2).
  • Alexander Isak has been involved in 24 Premier League goals in 2024, scoring 19 and providing five assists. It's the most in a year by a Newcastle player since Alan Shearer's 31 in 2002.
  • Bruno Guimaraes has won 56 fouls in the Premier League this season, 21 more than any other player. On average, he is fouled almost four times a game.
  • Harvey Barnes could face Leicester for the first time since leaving the club last year. He scored 45 goals in 187 appearances for the Foxes in all competitions.

Leicester City

  • Leicester have won just one of their past seven league matches (D2, L4).
  • The Foxes have conceded the opening goal in 11 of their 15 Premier League fixtures this season, a joint-high alongside Southampton and Wolves.

  • Ruud van Nistelrooy is unbeaten in his last 22 matches as a manager in all competitions.
