Leicester City have today confirmed that midfielder Shaun Newton has left the club by mutual consent.

Newton initially joined the Foxes on loan from Wolves towards the end of last season - with that deal being made permanent over the summer.

But the player has been unable to hammer down a concrete position in the starting XI during the 2007-08 campaign - making just seven league starts.

His final appearance for the Foxes came in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Southampton in December.

Just saw the headline "Stoke break record to land Cort" on the BBC website and thought momentarily that Christmas had come late this year.

Then reality set in and I realised the full stupidity of my initial reaction!!!:bang:

For the record, it was Leon Cort.

Very good news.

Seems to be getting better and better, cant really knock Holloway's dealings for both incoming and outgoing players.

Keep it up Ollie :038:

Exactly, within about a week the whole mood around the club seems to have changed!

Good new players coming in, great performance and win against our rivals, the shit is all on it's way out, and we're promised more new players are on the way! Beginning to feel good again!

.... so fully expect us to be slaughtered by Norwich, after Lackzo gets injured for the season ;)

Looks like that Ollie meant business when he told them to f**k off and has been giving them a chance to find a club. I suspect the rest will be off by 'mutual consent' before the end of Jan as well.

They are all nearing the end of their contracts so I doubt it will cost that much

Damn I thought it was ture for a second and that tbfc was going to be a speeling mistake free place at last!

I shall miss his quirky spelling and sentence construction. This is not something to be celebrated IMHO.

Whole 9 minutes earlier and still no credit.:icon_roll

Sorry - I had a quick look at your message, thought Newton had written it and decided I would try to decipher it later.

I can forgive hard workers who just aren't up to it but I have never seen anyone give so little for the shirt as Newton did (or didn't). That is unforgiveable. Laziness is contagious; moving him on is as good a deal as any of the new signings. Well done Ollie.

I certainly didn't think I made a joke, but thanks Oz!

Now you've gone and spoilt it ... and made me look a right jackass. :018::icon_bigg:117:
