Methinks Mr Quinn is not as stupid as he looks - this talk of Elliot may well be designed to improve his supposed bargaining position in relation to the probable difference between our valuation of Maybury and that of Sunderland. I would not be suprised to see a deal go through in the next ten days IMHO.

I would imagine that Quinn will employ every aspect of gamesmanship as a manager - just as he did when he was a player. He might take time to come up-to-speed in the new job but I wouldn't expect anything better of him - nasty piece of work!

seems like a right smarmy prick. and what an horrific voice.

Sunderland get beaten 3-1 by Southend.

This could be a great result for us where Maybury is concerned.....

Or very very bad....He might have to get someone else in to manage the club, who A. Rates Welsh and B. isn't intrested in Maybury.:icon_sad::icon_sad::icon_sad::icon_sad:

I wonder if it's got anything to do with Sunderland being known to have a sizable stack at the moment - they know it, we know it, everyone knows it - so they don't want to appear as being ripped off, hence the low bid. I think anything under 400K for Maybury would be a bargain for Sunderland, and a touch desperate on our part. I don't get the impression we are desperate to sell at the moment, but if we don't sell now, we might be a tad desperate in January. However, I don't think we're at that stage yet.

So they should play hard ball - feck em, they're not having our contacted players on the cheap! :icon_evil

Not at all sure of the details, but I think he got a load of Irish investors to put the vast majority of the money in, rather than him emptying his pocket to any large degree. Not as stupid as he looks.:icon_wink

Still choose Sunderland though! There must be better clubs to waste other people's money on.
