He just strikes me as nothing more than a David Cameron II who has no clue about the real world. The way he uses phrases like "a new Politics" is just totally off-putting and unbearable.

I find it so patronising the way he clearly thinks he's reaching out to people when he talks like that. I almost feel embarrassed on his own behalf.

Does anyone else who follows politics have an opinion on him?

Never heard of him, but I do have an opinion of him.

He was on Ch 4 news a couple of nights ago & was incredibly unimpressive.
If I hadn't have known who he was I would have been hard pressed to figure out which particular party machine had spat him out based on the banal, insipid cliches falling out of his mouth.

I feel totally disenfranchised as there isn't a single political party worthy of my vote anymore.

I felt the same way when I saw him interviewed on Newsnight. He's another one of these people who just never states that he believes in anything, just like David Cameron.

I don't know why they do this, I'd personally love it if politicians in general had solid beliefs and talked about them. At least then there would be more of a reason to vote.

Politicians haven't been politicians for some years now EAF, none of them are driven to represent anybody other than themselves.

The nearest thing to a politician in modern/recent politics would be Dave Nellist or George Galloway imo, but even George whored himself out although I can see some logic behind his embarrassing actions he still made an utter **** of himself.

Hes the leader of a party that will never see power in his lifetime so he is pretty irrelevant to me.

In some respects the Parties are not the problem rather the system. :icon_conf

Doesn't matter who is in charge of the Lib Dems does it ? They are never go to be in power:102:

Politicians are in it for themselves, not the people they are supposed to represent.

If this new geezer found a free guaranteed cure for cancer the other parties would oppose it.

It's a farce.

Politics is boring,I used to be into all the Socialist Worker bollox when I was younger.Nowadays I can't be arsed with any of it.

I can't honestly think of how a politician or politics has effected my life at all.

Maybe I just lead a simple lifestyle

Is that a vote for proportional representation Steven?

Yes because under the current system, too many people's vote count for nothing. That is not a Democracy.

It is certainly true that the ones in power have often been put there by a minority of the total vote.
