What's the deal with this guy?

Those who have seen him play, is he any good? Sounded like he did alright pre-season, yet he doesn't seem to be able to get near the first team now! Dyer and Gradel are playing well so will be ahead of him, but he seems to be behind Dickov and Porter in the pecking order now as well.

Has Pearson decided he's not up to much after all, is there an injury, or is he just out of favour? Anyone know? Seems a bit strange.

Could just be a Peter Taylor style 'one for the future'. If Gradel gets an injury then i'm sure he'll go straight into the team, because dickov isn't a winger and surely can't play there as back-up / replacement for an entire season, because he's not very effective there and it would be a waste of a very good striker.

I do think Adams has versitility on his side, so i'm sure he'll get his chance.

*Edit* He's a mean banjo player too.

It's still early in the season, I'm sure he will get his chance, and if he doesn't then that means the firt 11 is doing well so either way it's pretty good.

When I have seen him he has shown a lot of energy trying to win back balls he has lost. He is hard and brave. However, I didn't think he was as effective as Gradl or Dyer.

He looked good when I saw him at Palace....But then would you drop Gradel, Dyer or Dickov?

Not Gradel or Dyer, but would probably prefer him to Dickov as a winger to be fair.

Sounds like he'll get a chance midweek though.

To a point I agree Graz, but Dickov (even on the wing) causes problems for defences and wins free-kicks etc.. It's a tough one as Fryatt keeps scoring, otherwise I would love to see the Howard/Dickov front pairing which looked so good for the 2nd half at Fulham.

NP has stated in the past he doesnt expect Gradel to play every game, i think Adams will have his chance soon.

From the little i have seen of him, he hasnt put a foot wrong

Personally I don't think he's anywhere near the first choice XI currently.

I only saw him live against Tranmere but I was impressed. In the time he was on he made intelligent runs, good passes and played defence.

It's unlucky he plays the same position as Gradel, many parts of his game are better though.

This is the part that confuses me - when we signed him we were told he was capable of playing anywhere across midfield, and I got the impression he played most of his games for Bury in the middle.

I believe he's suggesting that the Deej is incapable of hitting a cow's arse with a banjo.

So thats what happens at Belvoir Drive. I become more and more out of my depth, I had not realised this was how strikers train. Presumably Matty Fryatt hits the poor cows arse with monotonous regularity. I am old enough to remember Frank Worthington. He could hit a flies testacles with a banjo. Let DJ try that.

I've done some sleuthing and got this;

''He plays left wing and is not too good at passing, can be too greedy. Doesn't get his head up and look what is around, usually gives the ball away, but does score a few goals. Needs to be coached better, has potential, but is very raw.''

''Id agree with some of the above but for a guy that can't pass he sure gets a lot of assists''

There'll probably be more soon.

So we have a midfielder who cannot pass?

Someones been reading the Peter Twatlor guide to management.

Another promising comment.....

''Tries to do too much with the ball, and gets caught most of the time.''
