When I saw him he had his head up, made great moves off the ball, covered defensively and passed very well.
Is there another Nicky Adams?
Of course not, but oyou are going on what you have actually seen, not some randon internet comment, how on earth do you expect your opinion to be taken seriously?
got a feeling Adams will score V Hartlepool

How did he play last night?
He did the job and that he should be able to do the job if we need him to in future.
Sounds like an exciting prospect.
I can clearly see the tongue in your cheek there. I am trying not to get too enthusiastic about the changes that I am seeing in the team - people keep telling me it is the wrong thing to do and that I have to wait and see after 10, 20, 30, 46 games.
But if Adams is not one of our top eleven, his performance last night delights me and suggests to me that, as far as on-field matters go, we have turned a corner. Having seen all except the Walsall game, I'm inclined to believe we will only be spending a single season in this division - but I'm keeping it to myself at the moment.
And back to Nicky Adams - I think there will be games when he is preferred (on merit) to the present top 11. He's hard-working, took his goal well and loves to go forward.
i think i must has missed this one as well:icon_wink

What about Luke O'Neill, Boc?
Decent enough deputy for Gilbert?
Kerrea is not a big bloke.
He hasn't got the flair of Gilbert and he seemed to be struggling with the pace of the game for a period in the first half when Carlisle put on a bit of pressure.

Might have been better if the captain had been at the back because there was no leader in that area; when Howard did come back, he was having a fair bit to say to the back four about their covering and the taking of responsibility. But certainly a decent enough debut and sign that we have a bit for cover for that position.
More interesting was the decision to play Gilbert in the middle. Was that forced on NP or was it an experiment? Centre-half has always been thought of as a position we have plenty of cover for - so what was it about. Gilbert did OK, but most games need two big blokes in the middle and little Kerrea is not a big bloke.
